Las Vegas, the birdies and Tiger Woods’s debut

Jon RahmJon Rham is back in action this Thursday where he will compete in the Shriners Hospital for Children Open, PGA Tour tournament held at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas. Rahm will play in the second tournament of the American tour season with the objective of maintaining those good vibes, demonstrated not even two weeks ago in the opening tournament of the season, when he finished in fifteenth place in the Safeway Open held in California. He’ll play this Thursday at 1:15 pm, local time, eight hours later in Spain. He’ll play with Marin Laird, winner of the 2009 edition and Korean golfer Seung Yul Noh.

The two key components on the Las Vegas course are that it’s almost 1,000 meters above sea level, which means controlling the ball’s trajectory, most of all with the irons, will mean back to the basics. And the other important factor is to keep the anxiety levels under control. It’s a course that generally produces low scores, with lots of birdies and it’s very easy to take on the added stress of the pressure of not starting off with a high accuracy level.

Another interesting fact about the tournament is that it’s where Tiger Woods took home his first victory in the PGA Tour back in 1996. A tournament with history.Las Vegas, the birdies and Tiger Woods’s debut
